List of OiB products and services

Opportunity offers its network participants exclusive access to a variety of different products and services. You will find a list of all meetings organised in 2008 in our 2008 Calendar of Events

• Support and advice
Opportunity’s consultants will support you as you develop and implement your policy.

• Measuring and monitoring
Monitoring is vital to determining an organisation’s priorities and the impact of its policy measures. After all, it’s hard to argue with facts! Opportunity has various tools and models for conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, including the Balance Meter, the Balance in Organisations Checklist and the Culture Barometer. Opportunity has also developed a “maturity model” that focuses on taking concrete steps towards greater staff diversity.

• Action Plan Workshop
A workshop for participants who are serious about achieving a good gender balance among their senior executives. You will learn how to outline an action plan for your own organisation. Opportunity will help you select the most effective strategy.

• Information and profiling
Opportunity will keep you up to date on the relevant developments and help you profile your organisation.

• Cross-mentoring
Mentors at participating organisations are linked to mentees working for other participants. A unique exchange programme, set up and supported by Opportunity.

• Leadership scan
This test reveals your diversity leadership style and whether you have a well-balanced set of leadership competencies. You can perform the scan yourself or have others fill it in for you.

• Diversity Game
This game will get you thinking about differences in attitude, diversity and inclusion, and actions and behaviour. The diversity game encourages discussion of your own impressions, opinions, prejudices, and behaviour.

• Balance in Organisations Checklist
The checklist allows you to perform a quick scan of your organisation. Answering the questions results in a score that indicates your organisation’s strengths, weaknesses and “blind spots”. A perfect basis for devising or fine-tuning your policy.

When completed at regular intervals, the checklist can be used as a policy monitoring tool. It also allows you to benchmark your organisation against others in the OIB network, giving you the chance to see how your situation compares with theirs. You can also use the checklist as a basis for dialogue within your organisation. You can ask multiple departments or people within your organisation to complete the checklist and use the results – and potential differences between sets of results – to generate discussion.

It is now possible to complete the checklist online. OIB participants have received a log-in code for that purpose.

• Balance Meter
The Balance Meter keeps track of the number of employees (male and female) who are hired, promoted and leave their jobs at the various hierarchical levels, helping you understand staffing trends within your organisation. The Balance Meter is an indispensable policy monitoring tool.

• TopCounter
The fifth TopCounter appeared in 2008, indicating the position of women in senior and middle management, broken down by sector and supplemented by good practices.

• Network meetings
Opportunity’s network meetings allow you to acquire information, gain inspiration, and share lessons learned in the field. The meetings focus on a variety of different topics.
